WICHITA (AP) - Jason Perez scored 25 points Monday night as Wichita Stateended a three-game losing streak by beating Wyoming 80-71.
Wyoming (10-5) had its four-game winning string ended in coach SteveMcClain's return to Kansas. McClain coached against Wichita State's RandySmithson while the two were the head coaches at Hutchinson and Butler Countycommunity colleges respectively in the early 1990s.
Perez has led Wichita State (5-6) in scoring in all but one game thisseason. Darrin Williams added 15 points for the Shockers.
They trailed at halftime, 34-33, but scored 11 unanswered points in abouttwo minutes for a 63-51 lead with 7:09 left.
Baskets by Perez opened and closed the run.
Chris McMillian led Wyoming with 18 points. Also in double figures for theCowboys were LeDarion Jones with 15 points, Anthony Blakes with 11 and BrettMcFall with 11.
