Cowboys Survive Shootout With Air Force, 83-76, In Quadruple Overtime

LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) - Marcus Bailey scored 25 points as Wyoming beat Air Force83-76 in quadruple overtime Monday.

It was the longest college game in Laramie on record.

The game came down to free throws. In the fourth overtime, Wyoming (14-4,5-0 Mountain West Conference) took one of its widest leads when Paris Cornermade two free throws toward a 78-74 advantage.

The Falcons (7-12, 1-5) pulled with 78-76 when Tim Keller made two of threefrom the line with about a minute left.

The Cowboys ended the game by making five of six free throws: DontaRichardson made one of two and Corner and Richardson had two each.

The 20-minute overtime ordeal began when Keller made a layup with 2.1seconds left to tie the score at 52.

At the end of the first overtime, Air Force came from behind again whenBernard Jenkins, a 33-percent free-throw shooter, made two to tie the game at59.

Late in the second overtime, David Peterson tied the game at 63 on a freethrow and neither team scored on their next couple possessions.

At the end of the third overtime, the Falcons took a 70-68 lead on a freethrow by Peterson. With 5.1 seconds left, Corner made a jump shot to tie thegame at 70.

After Bailey, Corner scored 19 for Wyoming. Richardson added 15 and UcheNsonwu-Amadi scored 14. Josh Davis had 10 rebounds.

The Falcons were led with 16 points each from Joel Gerlach and A.J. Kuhle.Lamoni Yazzi had 13 points and Keller 12.

Air Force led 29-23 at the half.
