ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - Josh Davis scored 25 points and had 14 rebounds andWyoming hit 24 free throws in the second half to beat New Mexico 99-93 Mondaynight.
Wyoming (14-10, 4-5 Mountain West) used an 18-3 run midway through thesecond half to erase an 11-point New Mexico lead.
Davis, who hit 9 of 16 shots, repeatedly sliced through the Lobos' defensefor layups. He also connected on a trio of 3-pointers.
New Mexico (13-11, 5-4) got 27 points from Lamont Long and a career-high 26points from Wayland White. But it wasn't enough to hold off the Cowboys'offense, which ranks sixth in the nation in scoring.
New Mexico is now 60-2 when scoring 81 points or more. Both of those losseshave come against Wyoming this season. The Cowboys won 88-83 in Laramie lastmonth.
The Cowboys secured Monday's win with 23 offensive rebounds and dominatedrebounding overall, 51-35.
Davis scored eight points and freshman Marcus Bailey four in the Cowboys'18-3 scoring spurt. From there, Wyoming's foul shooting did the rest. TheCowboys were 24 of 29 at the line in the second half and 29 of 35 for the game.
New Mexico outscored the Cowboys 11-1 over the final 2:45 of the first halfto take a 48-41 lead after the two teams had traded leads 12 times.
The Lobos then scored the first four points of the second half for a 52-41lead with 17:20 remaining.
White ignited the Lobos' first half scoring burst. With Wyoming up 40-37,White tipped in a Lobo miss. Then after Roland Hannah hit a pair free throws,White soared for a slam dunk off a pass from Marlon Parmer.
Parmer followed with a 3-pointer - the Lobos only successful 3-pointer from10 first half attempts - and Tim Lightfoot scored on a layup.
Wyoming's Chris McMillian halted the run with a free throw.
The Lobos hit six of their first seven shots to grab a 14-5 lead, butWyoming then scored the next points. Davis scored 5 points, Justin French hit a3-pointer and Anthony Blakes banked one in.
