LARAMIE, Wyo. - Tony Bland scored 19 points and Randy Holcomb added 15to lead San Diego State to a 68-64 upset over Wyoming in Mountain WestConference play Monday.
Al Faux added 12 for San Diego State (16-10, 5-6 MWC), which notched itsfirst win in Laramie in 11 years by staving off a furious rally by the Cowboys.
San Diego State went up 47-29 on a long jumper by Holcomb two minutes intothe second half and still led 65-52 after a layup by Bland with 5:18 remaining.
The Cowboys, led by Davis and Bailey, then launched a rally that was foiledwhen the Aztecs forced four straight missed shots in the final minute.
Davis soared to grab an offensive rebound and slam it home and then scoredon a reverse layup to draw Wyoming within 68-64 with 1:03 left.
After a miss by Bland, Wyoming's Paris Corner missed a jumper that wasrebounded by the Aztecs' Mike Mackell, who was whistled for traveling as hefell.
In the final 24 seconds, Richardson missed two 3-point attempts and Baileymissed a 12-foot jumper for the Cowboys.
Bailey ignited the near comeback with a end-to-end drive, layup and freethrow to trim the lead to 65-55 with 4:41 left.
Bland scored 13 points in the first half as San Diego State thoroughlydominated and took a 41-25 lead at intermission.
The Cowboys led only twice, 2-0 and 4-2.
