LAS VEGAS (AP) - Josh Davis scored the last five points of the game andWyoming held Colorado State scoreless over the final 2:22 Thursday night as theCowboys won 74-68 in the first round of the Mountain West Conferencetournament.
Wyoming (19-11, 9-6) had lost two straight against the Rams, including a79-78 squeaker in the regular-season finale Saturday.
Wyoming was down 50-44 Thursday when Marcus Bailey converted a three-pointplay with 13:16 left that started a 14-2 Wyoming run.
Colorado State (18-12, 8-7) came back to tie the game 62-62 on a 3-pointerby Aki Palmer with 6:15 left, and took the lead seconds later when Palmer madea second straight 3.
The Rams led for the final time, 68-67, after a layup and free throw byBrian Greene with 2:22 left.
But Wyoming finished the game with a 7-0 run. An Anthony Blakes layup putthe Cowboys ahead, and then Davis took over, with three free throws and a dunkoff a turnover.
LeDarion Jones led Wyoming with 18 points, while Bailey had 15 and Davisadded 13.
Colorado State's Ceedric Goodwyn had a game-high 20 points and Palmer added15, all on 3-pointers.
