Senior guard Paris Corner'sgame-high 17 points helped lead the Wyoming Cowboys to a 107-76 victoryover the EA Sports Southwest All-Stars Tuesday evening before 7,396 fansin the Arena-Auditorium.
The Pokes used a 28-2 run at the beginning of the second half to blowopen a close 43-39 halftime lead. For the game Wyoming shot ablistering 57.9 percent from the three-point arc hitting 11 of 19attempts. Defensively the Cowboys played solid holding EA Sports toonly 34.6 percent shooting from the field.
"I thought we came out casual in the first half, but we talked athalftime about how defense creates offense," said UW head coach SteveMcClain. "We have a veteran team, and they knew what they had to dowhen we came out in the second half."
Junior Marcus Bailey was Wyoming's second leading scorer with 15followed by Uche Nsonwu-Amadi and Donta Richardson who had 14 each andJason Straight with 13. Richardson also had a game-high 10 assists.Ugo Udezue grabbed double-figure rebounds for the second consecutivegame with 10.
The EA Sports All-Stars were led by former Utah star Tony Harvey's 12points.
