*Junior Joe Ries started in his first game as a Wyoming Cowboys against the Northwest Sports All-Stars (although since it is an exhibition game it won't count as an official start).

*Senior Chris McMillian returned to action versus the Northwest Sports All-Stars after missing last season due to surgery on his broken left leg.

*Four Cowboys saw their first action as Wyoming Cowboys today. David Adams, Mory Correa, Omoniyi Makun and Ryan Wildenborg each played in their first game for Wyoming. All four are juniors. Adams transferred from Washington State University and sat out the 2002-03 season. Wildenborg also sat out last year after transferring from the University of Minnesota. Quotes from Univeristy of Wyoming head coach Steve McClain

"The first thing I want to say is to thank the fans -- over 8,000 for an exhibition game is great.

"I liked what I saw from our veteran kids. But I came into this game wanting to get the new kids and the kids that sat out last season a good number of minutes. We got good effort from everybody today.

"When I look at a box score and see 24 assists on 39 made field goals, that is the sign of a pretty unselfish team.

"We got an opportunity to run a lot of our sets (set offense) tonight, and we got a chance to run some new wrinkles we've put in to free up Marc (Bailey) more this season.

"The EA Sports game next week will be like a regular-season game. When you throw in the fact that Brett (McFall) and Ronell (Mingo) will be coming back to the Double A, it should be an exciting game."
