LARAMIE, Wyo. - Wyoming jumped out to a 62-32 halftime lead and coasted to a 105-69 exhibition victory over Ural Great-Russia. The Cowboys were very balanced, with three players scoring 16 points or more.Anthony Blakes had 26 points on 9-of-12 shooting, including 4-of-7 from three-point land, to lead the Pokes. Josh Davis had 21 and Ugo Udezue added 16 to help the Cowboy cause.
Wyoming also got a solid effort from point guard Chris McMillian. McMillian had 9 points, three rebounds and 13 assists.
"I thought we got a lot better effort out of our veteran players tonight," said Wyoming head coach Steve McClain. "That's what I wanted to see, for our veterans to step up and respond.
"I was also pleased with the way we kept playing defense and the way we kept playing hard for 40 minutes. Anthony had a strong performance. What impressed me most about Anthony's performance was the way he let his defense create his offense. He got some easy baskets early, and then he hit some open threes."
Wyoming will get its regular season under way on Nov. 19, when it hosts Northwestern State (La.) in the Arena-Auditorium at 7:00 p.m.
