LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) - Tim Henry scored 23 points and David Adams and MoryCorrea 10 each to lead Wyoming past Norfolk State 84-42 Tuesday.
Wyoming (1-1) blew the game open in the first half behind some hot shootingand a smothering defense, building a 45-17 lead at intermission. The Cowboysshot 56 percent from the field in the half, making 15 of 27 shots, while theSpartans made just 27 percent, 8-of-30, including 1-of-12 from 3-point range.
Henry scored 16 of his points in the first half to lead Wyoming. He finishedthe game 8-of-11 from the field and 5-of-7 from the free throw line.
Points remained sparse in the second half for Norfolk State as Wyoming builtits lead to 40 points midway through.
The Spartans, who scored nearly half their points in the last 10 minutes ofthe game, were led by 11 points from Chakowby Hicks and 10 from KarandickOgunride.
Wyoming played the game without two of its starting guards. Junior JayStraight was suspended for the game for violating team rules. Straight was topractice Wednesday and was to be reinstated for Saturday's game against MiddleTennessee. Junior Dion Sherrell was held out of the game because of an injuryhe sustained in practice. He was expected to be available for Saturday's game,also.
