BILLINGS, Mont. - Junior Bradley Mann shot a career-high 20 points Friday tolead Wyoming past Montana State, 90-76, for the fifth straight year in theirannual Border War at the Billings Metra.
Mann nailed five 3-pointers in the first half as the Cowboys (2-1) built a46-31 lead by halftime. They led by as much as 18 in the first half.
MSU (2-1) scored eight straight points to pull within six, 72-66, with 7:57to play. Nate Holmstadt hit an inside shot, Jamie Hooper put down a 3-pointerand Mike Henry finished with a 3-point play to get the Bobcats close.
However, MSU went scoreless for almost three minutes as two baskets by UgoUdezue gave Wyoming a 10-point lead.
The Bobcats cut the margin to eight points three more times, but never gotany closer.
Nate Holmstadt, who was 1 of 9 from the field in the first half, led MSUwith 18 points. Danny Sprinkle added 13, while Mike Henry had 11 points and 11rebounds. John Lazosky had 10 points for MSU.
Udezue and Josh Davis had 12 points apiece for Wyoming, while ChrisMcMillian and LaDarion Jones each had 10. Davis, a true freshman, had 11 pointsin the first half.
Next year's game is in Laramie, Wyo.
