CASPER, Wyo. (AP) - David Adams keyed a fourth-quarter run and freshmanMikel Watson hit a crucial 3-pointer as Wyoming escaped with a 63-55 win overMontana State in the Blue Cross/Blue Shield Wyoming Shootout on Saturday.
Wyoming, which trailed 30-29 at halftime, moved ahead 58-54 with 3:05remaining on the last of Adams' four 3-pointers.
The senior shooting guard finished with a game-high 20 points. MontanaState's zone defense slowed down the Cowboys' up-tempo style and held Wyoming11 points below its season average.
With 1:10 remaining and three seconds on the shot clock, Watson hit a3-pointer from the right wing to put Wyoming ahead, 61-55.
Montana State missed three of four free throws in the final 2:40 and went1-for-6 from the line in the game at the Casper Events Center.
Calvin Ento led Montana State with 19 points, while Jason Erickson had 12.Starting center Matt Townsley did not play in the contest and is expected tomiss two-to-three weeks with a herniated disc in his back.
Joe Ries scored 13 points for Wyoming, which was without starting guard DionSherrell, who sprained his foot in Friday's shootaround. His status wasuncertain.
