LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) - Mory Correa scored 18 points to help Wyoming defeatWinthrop 79-49 on Saturday.
Jay Straight tallied 15 assists for the Cowboys (6-3), breaking a20-year-old school record.
Wyoming opened the game with a 15-0 run. The Eagles (5-3) missed 13 attemptsand did not score until Torrell Martin hit a 3-point jump shot with 11:30 leftin the half.
Another Cowboys run, this time 15-4, put Wyoming up 47-29 at the start ofthe second half. Wyoming's lead only widened from there.
After Correa, David Adams had 17 points and nine rebounds, Tim Henry 12points and Straight 15 points. Wyoming shot just 36 percent (9 of 25) in thefirst half but recovered to shot 69 percent (20 of 29) in the second, averaging53.7.
Winthrop averaged 30.8 percent. The Eagles made 31.3 percent (10 of 32) inthe first half and 30.3 (10 of 33) in the second.
Martin led Winthrop with 12 points, followed by eight points from BillyHouston.
