Wyoming Men's Basketball Tops Akron, 81-73

AKRON, Ohio (AP) - Uche Nsonwu-Amadi scored 16 points and Ugo Udezue added14 points and 11 rebounds as Wyoming beat Akron 81-73 Saturday.

Marcus Bailey scored 12, Chris McMillian 11 and Josh Davis 10 for Wyoming(8-2), which used a 19-4 run late in the first half to break the game open.

Bailey had seven points and Nsonwu-Amadi and McFall scored five each duringthe 5:01 surge, which put the Cowboys ahead 40-22 with 2:38 remaining.

Nsonwu-Amadi started the run with a dunk and followed a turnover with athree-point play. McFall scored on a 3-pointer and a layup and Bailey hit twofree throws, a layup and a 3.

The Zips (3-5) committed four turnovers and managed just two free throws byEmmanuel Smith and a Bruce Weinkein layup during the run. They trailed bydouble figures most of the rest of the way.

Nate Schindewolf and Rashon Brown led Akron with 17 points each, Weinkeinscored 15 and Andre Sims 10. The Zips made just 10-of-32 (31 percent) in thefirst half and finished 28-of-73 (38 percent).
