Two of the Nation's Top Big Men Will Faceoff in Wyoming-Denver Game on Jan. 2

Two of the nation's top big men will faceoff against one another on Jan. 2 when the Wyoming Cowboys travel to Denver, Colo., to play the University of Denver Pioneers at 7 p.m. In that game, Wyoming's Justin Williams and Denver's Yemi Nicholson, will provide college basketball fans one of the top head-to-head matchups of the season.

Williams is ranked No. 1 in the nation in blocked shots this season, averaging 6.1 blocks per game. He was also ranked No. 6 in the NCAA in rebounding as of the most recent NCAA statistics. Williams is currently averaging 11.4 rebounds per game.

Nicholson was ranked No. 11 in the country in blocked shots as of the most recent NCAA rankings. He is currently averaging 3.0 blocks per game. Nicholson was also ranked No. 19 in the country in rebounding, and is currently pulling down 9.9 rebounds per contest.

Wyoming and Denver will be playing each other for the 141st time. That ranks as the fourth longest series in UW school history. Wyoming holds a 96-44 (.686) advantage in the all-time series.

This season's meeting will also mark the 14th consecutive season that Wyoming and Denver have played.

A year ago, UW defeated DU, by a score of 78-72 on Jan. 4, 2005, in Laramie. Wyoming is 5-2 versus Denver during the Steve McClain era.

Monday's game will be televised live on FOX Sports Rocky Mountain, and as always the game will be broadcast on radio by the Cowboy Sports Network. The radio broadcast will begin at 6:30 p.m.
