Wyoming's Nsonwu-Amadi Named MWC Men's Basketball Player Of The Week

Wyoming senior center Uche Nsonwu-Amadi is the Mountain West Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week after helping the Cowboys win two games last week. This is Nsonwu-Amadi's second player of the week honor of his career.

Nsonwu-Amadi, from Enugu, Nigeria (Indian Hills CC), recorded back-to-back double-doubles, averaging 14 points and 13 rebounds, while shooting 67 percent (12-of-18) from the floor.

In Wyoming's 69-57 win at Indiana State, Nsonwu-Amadi shot 64 percent (7-of-11) from the field and posted 15 points and 10 rebounds to go along with three assists and a steal. Against Montana State, he scored 13 points and pulled down 16 boards in the Cowboys 60-56 victory. Nsonwu-Amadi hit 5-of-7 shots (71 percent) from the field and had a season-high three blocked shots.

Nsonwu-Amadi has six double-doubles in only eight games played this season and is currently the only MWC player averaging a double-double (13.6 ppg and 11.2 rpg).
