The Wyoming Cowboy basketball team will return home to the Arena-Auditorium, where they have posted an 8-2 record this season, to host the Utah Runnin' Utes this Saturday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. The game will be televised by The Mtn.

A Look at the Matchup with Utah:
The Wyoming Cowboys will enter Saturday with an 8-9 overall record and a 1-2 mark in the Mountain West Conference. They have played their best basketball at home, where they are 8-2 and have outscored their opponents by an average of 14.8 points a game

After starting the season 7-3, Utah has lost seven straight games. They are currently 7-10 overall and 0-3 in the MWC. They have had a tough start to their MWC season, losing at Air Force (69-77) and at home to No. 6 San Diego State (62-71) and No. 10 BYU (79-104).

    Each Team's Leaders:
Sophomore Desmar Jackson has been the Cowboys' most consistent player. He is the fourth leading scorer in the MWC with a 15.4 points per game average. He also ranks second in the league in steals with 2.31 per contest. He has scored in double figures in 25 of the last 28 games he has played.

Junior Francisco Cruz has also been making a major impact this season, especially in MWC play. In league games, he is averaging 12.3 points a game. He has played all 40 minutes in each of the Cowboys last two games.

Utah is led by junior forward Will Clyburn, who is averaging 19.1 points and 8.1 rebounds a game. He is the second best scorer in the MWC and is ranked third in the league in rebounding. Junior guard Josh Watkins is also playing very well and is averaging 14.9 points a game.

Cowboys and Utes Will Meet for the 169th Time:
This Saturday's meeting will be the 169th between Wyoming and Utah, with the Cowboys trailing 75-93 in the series. In games played in Laramie, the Cowboys hold a 49-32 advantage.

The recent series has been dominated by the home team. Wyoming has won 11 of the last 15 meetings in Laramie and Utah has won 13 of the last 15 games in Salt Lake City.

    Cowboys and the Injury Bug:
The injury bug has been a major problem for the Cowboys this season, as six different players have missed at least one game due to injury.

The Cowboys will be without Afam Muojeke for the remainder of the season, as the junior tore the meniscus in his left knee and will have surgery next week.

In their game at TCU on Wednesday, the Pokes were also without two starters in senior Djibril Thiam and junior JayDee Luster. Both players are day-to-day, but it is hopeful they will be able to play on Saturday.
