Wyoming will be looking for its fourth road win during the Mountain West Conference era in "The Pit." Wyoming is 3-4 in "The Pit" during the MWC era, which also is the same time period that Steve McClain has coached against the Lobos.
Through the years, the Cowboys have enjoyed as much success in Albuquerque as almost any New Mexico opponent. In fact, Wyoming has won 14 times overall in "The Pit". BYU is the only Lobo opponent to win more times in the famed arena. The Cougars won their 16th game in "The Pit" earlier this season.
Cowboy senior center Daaron Brown suffered a sprained left ankle in the Colorado State game on Wednesday, Jan. 24, which caused him to miss last Saturday's 71-56 win over TCU. Brown will also miss this Tuesday's matchup with New Mexico.
Since the beginning of conference play, the Wyoming Defense has begun to take center stage for the Cowboys. Wyoming leads the Mountain West Conference in both field-goal percentage defense and three-point field-goal percentage defense, and ranks No. 3 in scoring defense.
UW is the only MWC team to hold opponents to less than 40 percent shooting from the field and less than 30 percent shooting from three-point range in conference play.
