LARAMIE, Wyo. -
The Wyoming Cowboys will be looking to end their longest losing streak of the 2005-06 season when they host the TCU Horned Frogs on Wednesday, Feb. 8 at 7:00 p.m. in the Arena-Auditorium.
Wyoming has lost its last three games: at UNLV (54-66) on Feb. 4; at home to Utah (63-71) on Feb. 1, in a game that senior forward Justin Williams was forced to miss due to an ankle injury; and at home in a one-point overtime loss to league leader San Diego State (77-78) on Jan. 28.
The Cowboys longest winning streak this season is also three games. That three-game winning streak started earlier this year when the Cowboys traveled to TCU and beat the Horned Frogs, 68-64, on Jan. 7.
The Cowboys enter Wednesday's game with an 11-11 overall record this season. UW is tied for fifth place in the MWC with New Mexico. Both the Cowboys and Lobos have 4-5 conference records. TCU is in eighth place with a 1-7 conference mark. The Horned Frogs are 5-17 overall this season.
Wyoming senior Justin Williams could make history on Wednesday night. He needs only three more blocked shots to become the Mountain West Conference career leader. Williams will enter Wednesday night's game with 192 career blocked shots. He trails only former UNLV forward Dalron Johnson, who blocked 194 shots from the 1999-2000 season through the 2002-03 campaign.
Williams' 111 blocked shots this season broke his own MWC single-season record of 81 blocks which he set a year ago.
There is no television coverage of Wednesday's game. The Cowboy Sports Network will broadcast the game on radio through its 25-affiliate stations beginning with the pregame show at 6:30 p.m.
The Cowboys' next game will be on Saturday, Feb. 11 at the Air Force Academy. That game will tip off at 4:00 p.m., and will be televised by SportsWest TV. The SportsWest affiliate in the state of Wyoming is KTWO-TV of Casper, Wyo.
