The Wyoming Cowboys enter Saturday's game at UNLV looking to break a current three-game losing streak this season. The current streak is the longest of the season for the Pokes. UW also lost three in a row in mid January.
Wyoming will also be looking to break a three-game losing streak in Las Vegas that dates back to the 2003-04 season. The last time Wyoming won at UNLV was Feb. 1, 2003, by a score of 90-80.
Saturday's game will tip off at 8 p.m., Mountain Time (7 p.m., Pacific) from the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas. The game will be televised by "the mtn." (Mountain West Sports Network).
The Cowboys enter Saturday's matchup with a 13-11 overall record and are 4-6 in the Mountain West Conference, tied for fifth place. UNLV is 20-5 overall and 7-3 in conference play, tied for second place.
Exactly one month ago on Jan. 10, the Wyoming Cowboys played one of their best games of the season when they defeated UNLV by a score of 86-76 in single overtime in Laramie.
That game also was one of the best for the Cowboy guard tandem of Brandon Ewing and Brad Jones. Ewing and Jones combined for 54 points against the Rebels for their second highest combined total of the season. Ewing led the way with 30 points, while Jones added 24. Cowboy junior James Spencer also contributed 17 points.
Jones and Ewing's top combined total in a game this season was 56 points versus Boise State in a 94-79 season-opening victory.
The Cowboy Sports Network radio broadcast of Saturday's Wyoming-UNLV game will begin at 7:30 p.m., Mountain Time on the 25 affiliate stations of CSN.
