The Wyoming Cowboy and UNLV Runnin' Rebel basketball teams will take center stage on Saturday night in Las Vegas, as the two teams will do battle in a Mountain West Conference showdown. The game will begin at 8 p.m. (Mountain Time) in UNLV's Thomas and Mack Center. The game will be televised by The Mtn.

A Look at the Matchup with UNLV:
The Wyoming Cowboys will look to build on some recent success. The Pokes have won two of their last three games and will go into Saturday night fresh off a 63-61 win over Air Force this past Wednesday. The Cowboys are currently 10-17 overall and 3-10 in the MWC. They continue to search for their first road win of the season.

UNLV has been one of the hottest teams in the MWC, winning three straight games. After a 77-74 overtime road win at New Mexico on Wednesday night, the Rebels improved to 21-7 overall and 9-5 in the MWC. They have taken over sole possession of third place in the league standings.

Despite a great effort by the Cowboys earlier this season in Laramie, UNLV won the first meeting of the season 74-65 back on Jan. 25. The Cowboys held UNLV to 23 first-half points and led by eight at the break, before eventually falling to the Rebels.

    Each Team's Leaders:
Sophomore Amath M'Baye has been spectacular for the Cowboys over their past four games, as he has averaged 20.25 points a game. He scored a career-high 27 points in UW's win over Air Force, marking the third time he has matched or surpassed a previous career high over the last four games. He has also scored in double figures in nine of UW's last 11 games.

M'Baye teams with Desmar Jackson to form a pair of super sophomores in the MWC. Among all underclassmen in the conference, Jackson is ranked as the second best scorer (14.7 ppg) and the fifth best rebounder (5.0 rpg), while M'Baye is the fourth best scorer (11.8 ppg) and the third best rebounder (5.5 rpg).

UNLV is led by senior guard Tre'Von Willis, who is averaging a team-high 13.0 points a game. Junior forward Chace Stanback and junior guard Oscar Bellfield are also scoring in double figures, with respective averages of 12.4 and 11.1 ppg. Stanback is the Rebels' leading rebounder with 5.8 per game, while Bellfield leads the team in assists with 3.6 per game.

Cowboys and Runnin' Rebels Meet for the 42nd Time:
Saturday's game will mark the 42nd meeting between Wyoming and UNLV on the basketball floor. UNLV leads the series 27-14 and in games played in Las Vegas, the Cowboys are 3-17 all time.

    On the Horizon:
After traveling to UNLV, the Cowboys will close out the regular season by playing the top two teams in the MWC. They will host No. 6/4 San Diego State on Tue., March 1 before traveling to No. 7 BYU on Sat., March 5. The MWC Championships will begin on Wed., March 9 in Las Vegas.
