Adams Named to USBWA All-District Team

March 8, 2016

ST. LOUIS - Wyoming’s Josh Adams has been named to the U.S. Basketball Writers Association’s All-District VIII Team, the organization announced Tuesday. The senior guard is the second Cowboy to earn the accolade in the last two years, after Larry Nance Jr. was honored last season. The award is voted on by the USBWA’s national membership of 900-plus.

A native of Parker, Colo., Adams has averaged 24.9 points per game this season for first in the Mountain West and third in the NCAA. He also paces the Pokes at 5.6 rebounds per contest, 4.2 assists and 1.5 steals, while ranking in the top 10 of 11 different MW statistical categories. His 722 points this season broke Wyoming’s single-season record of 701 by Flynn Robinson in 1964-65 and his nine threes against Colorado State on Feb. 20 tied UW’s single-game record. He was also named All-MW First Team by the league’s coaches on Tuesday and was tabbed MW Player of the Year by the conference’s media earlier in the week.

Adams is one of three MW representatives on the USBWA’s All-District VIII Team, which is comprised of teams from Wyoming, Utah, Idaho, New Mexico, Colorado, Nevada and Montana.
