The University of Wyoming men's basketball team was tabbed the No. 12 seed in the East Region during Sunday's NCAA Championships Selection Show and will face fifth-seeded Northern Iowa on Friday in Seattle at 11:40 a.m. MT on truTV.
Wyoming earned the Mountain West's automatic bid to the NCAA Championships with a 45-43 upset of No. 25 San Diego State on Saturday in the conference tournament title game. The Pokes will be dancing for the first time since 2002 and 15th time in program history. Wyoming has been the No. 12 seed one time before in 1987 and advanced to the Sweet 16. The Cowboys are 9-19 all-time in the NCAA tournament, including a national championship in 1943. Wyoming has never faced Northern Iowa in the NCAA tournament.
