KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Wyoming's Larry Nance Jr. has been named to the All-District 17 First Team, the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced Friday. The senior forward claimed first-team accolades for a second-straight year after former Cowboy Leonard Washington was named to the All-District 17 Second Team the previous two seasons. The award is voted on by member coaches of the NABC.
A native of Akron, Ohio, Nance helped the Pokes to a 25-10 overall mark in 2014-15, including 11-7 in the Mountain West to finish fourth in the conference standings. Wyoming won the MW tournament, its first in any sport, to advance to the NCAA Championships for the first time since 2002. Nance paced the Pokes at 16.1 points, 7.2 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game, while shooting 51 percent from the field. He scored in double figures 25 times during the season, including 10 efforts of more than 20 points, and notched seven double-doubles. He was also named to the All-MW First Team and All-Defensive Team, while claiming co-Defensive Player of the Year for the conference.
