LARAMIE, Wyo. -
Wyoming will make its second of three consecutive road trips of the 2007-08 season when it travels to Beaumont, Texas, for a Monday night matchup with the Lamar University Cardinals. The game is set to tip off on Nov. 19 at 6 p.m., Mountain Time.
Both Wyoming and Lamar will enter Monday's game with 1-1 records, and both teams are coming off road losses. Wyoming lost at Denver on Tuesday, Nov. 13 by a 65-76 margin. Lamar lost its most recent game at Ole Miss by a final score of 70-108.
The new look Wyoming Cowboys have done an excellent job of taking care of the ball while forcing opponents into turnovers thus far this season. Wyoming has committed an average of 14.0 turnovers per game thus far this year, while forcing opponents into an average of 20.5 turnovers per game for a +6.5 turnover margin. That ranks the Cowboys No. 1 in the Mountain West Conference as a team.
In last Tuesday's game at Denver, junior Brandon Ewing scored 20 points versus the DU Pioneers for his second consecutive 20-point game to start the season. But more impressive was the fact that it marked Ewing's 50th career double-figure scoring game and 25th 20-point game of his career.
Monday night's game will be broadcast on radio over the Cowboy Sports Network, beginning with the pregame show one-half hour before game time. There is no television coverage of Monday's game.
Following Monday's road game the Cowboys will return to the road on Saturday, Nov. 24 at Wichita State in a game scheduled for 6 p.m., Mountain Time. The Pokes return home on Monday, Nov. 26 to face Arkansas-Pine Bluff in a 7 p.m. contest.
