On Saturday night, the Cowboy basketball team will be featured in the nightcap of a Wyoming Athletics double-header as the Pokes host Johnson & Wales University at 6 p.m. in the Arena-Auditorium. The game will follow the 100th "Border War" football game between Colorado State and Wyoming.
The Cowboys enter Saturday night's game with a perfect 2-0 record, with home wins over Cal State Bakersfield (84-58) and Prairie View A&M (80-75). Johnson & Wales enters Saturday's game with a 1-3 record.
Through the first two games of the season, the Cowboys are led by four starters who have all scored in double figures in both games this season. Redshirt freshman Afam Muojeke leads the team, and the Mountain West Conference, with 27.0 points a game. Senior Tyson Johnson is currently averaging 16.0 points a game, senior Brandon Ewing is averaging 14.0 and redshirt senior Sean Ogirri is scoring 11.5 a game.
Ewing has been a complete player for the Cowboys this season, as he is also averaging 7.0 assists a game. He currently leads the MWC in assists and is tied for 11th in the league in scoring.
