For the eighth consecutive season, the Wyoming Cowboys and Montana State Bobcats will meet on the basketball court when the two teams tip off Saturday at 7:00 p.m. in the MetraPark Arena in Billings, Mont. Wyoming enters the game with a 3-1 record for the 2004-05 season. Montana State is 1-3, having captured its first win of the season on Thursday night over Utah Valley State by a score of 61-45. Wyoming's most recent game saw the Pokes lose for the first time this season by a score of 98-70 at No. 20 ranked Arizona on Tuesday.
The Cowboys have won the last 10 meetings versus Montana State going back to the 1992 season.
The overall series record stands at 38-9 in favor of the Cowboys.
The vast majority of the games in the series have been played at neutral sites. In fact 28 of the previous 47 meetings have been played at neutral sites with Wyoming holding a 26-2 advantage on neutral courts. This year's meeting in Billings will mark the seventh consecutive season the two teams have played each other on a neutral court. The series has rotated between Casper, Wyo., and Billings, Mont., over that seven-year span.
The game will be carried on the 25- station Cowboy Sports Network. No television coverage is planned for Saturday night's contest.
After the Montana State game, Wyoming will travel to Dayton, Ohio, to face the University of Dayton Flyers on Tuesday, Dec. 7.
