Cowboys Have Played in Casper for 24 Consecutive Seasons

This Saturday's Wyoming Shootout in Casper, Wyo., will mark the 24th consecutive season the Wyoming Cowboys have played a game in Casper. For the seventh straight year, the Wyoming Shootout will feature a doubleheader with both the Cowboy and Cowgirl Basketball teams. Wyoming men's team will play Montana State at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 17. That game will be proceeded by the Cowgirls versus Chadron State at 1 p.m. Both games will be played at the Casper Events Center and will be broadcast live on radio by the Cowboy Sports Network.

The Wyoming Cowboys enter Saturday's game with a 4-4 record. Montana State is 3-5. The two teams will be meeting for the 49th time in the two schools' histories. UW leads the overall series 39-9. The Pokes have won the last 11 meetings. Nine of those last 11 meetings have been played at neutral sites - either in Casper, Wyo., or Billings, Mont. Wyoming head coach Steve McClain is a perfect 7-0 versus the Bobcats.

Following Saturday's Wyoming Shootout, the Cowboys return to action on Thursday, Dec. 22 when they host the SMU Mustangs in Laramie. That game is scheduled to tipoff at 7 p.m.
