MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. (AP) - Derrick Vickers threw for 361 yards on aschool-record 28 completions as Central Michigan beat Wyoming 32-20 Saturday.
The Chippewas (2-0) grabbed a 10-0 lead midway through the first quarter asRobbie Mixon, who ran for 150 yards on 37 carries, scored from 4 yards out andMike Gruzwalski kicked one of his four field goals.
Casey Bramlet completed 20 of 36 passes for 290 yards and three touchdownsto lead Wyoming (0-2), which played its second straight road game to start theseason.
The Cowboys got within 26-20 on a 67-yard touchdown pass from Bramlet toMalcolm Floyd, but Central Michigan responded with a 15-play, 90-yard drivethat took more than seven minutes off the clock. It ended with a 4-yard passfrom Vickers to Tory Humphrey.
Wyoming rallied from its early deficit to take a 13-10 lead on two TD passesfrom Bramlet. Gruzwalski kicked a 40-yard field goal to force a tie athalftime.
Central Michigan went ahead 26-13 on two more field goals from Gruzwalskiand Vickers' second TD pass to Humphrey, this one from 18 yards in the finalminute of the third quarter.
The Chippewas, who improved 2-0 for the first time since 1986, outgainedWyoming in total yardage 529-354.
Gruzwalski's four field goals tied a school record.
