LARAMIE, Wyo.-- Mike Thiessen ran for four touchdowns and threw foranother as Air Force beat Wyoming 51-34 on Saturday.
Thiessen scored on runs of 2, 25, 17 and 6 yards - the most TD runs by anAir Force player since Beau Morgan had four against Colorado State in 1996.Thiessen also completed 8 of 13 passes for 193 yards and a touchdown.
Air Force (5-1, 3-1 Mountain West) gained 625 total yards, including 432rushing, against Wyoming (1-6, 0-3). Entering the game, the Falcons wereaveraging 413.2 yards.
Air Force scored on five of its first six possessions, and did not puntuntil 6:16 left in the third quarter.
In the first half, Air Force gained a 24-10 lead, scoring on everypossession, except the first, which ended with a 40-yard field-goal attempt byDavid Adams that hit the goal post.
Thiessen's first score was set up by an 81-yard screen pass to Scotty McKayto the Wyoming 5. The pass play was the fourth-longest in Falcons history.
Thiessen's 25-yard TD run late in the second quarter capped off aseven-play, 78-yard drive in which he accounted for 71 of the yards - 52rushing and 19 passing.
Thiessen scored on Air Force's first possession of the second half for a30-10 lead. He added a 6-yard TD run early in the fourth, and threw a 32-yardscoring pass to Ricky Amezaga.
Nate Beard added a 1-yard TD run in the first quarter, and Adams a 35-yardfield goal in the second for Air Force.
