SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Lance Rice threw for 234 yards and three touchdowns,including two to Cliff Russell, and Dameon Hunter ran for 109 yards as Utahbeat Wyoming 35-0 on Saturday.
Utah (5-1, 2-0 Mountain West) won with a balanced attack, finishing with 190yards rushing and 275 passing. Russell caught seven passes for a career-high157 yards.
The Cowboys (2-5, 0-4) were shut out for the second straight year by theUtes, who won 34-0 last season. Wyoming gained only 150 yards and didn't crossmidfield in the second half until late in the fourth quarter.
The Utes led 21-0 at the break, and Rice put the game out of reach early inthe third period with an 8-yard TD pass to Josh Lyman. Rice finished 15-of-21,while Adam Tate rushed for two short touchdowns.
Wyoming's Casey Bramlet, who came in leading the Mountain West at 296.2yards passing a game, struggled against Utah's defense. He finished 15-of-29for 80 yards and an interception.
After a scoreless first quarter, Rice threw a a 44-yard touchdown pass toRussell. The Utes forced a punt, then drove 55 yards in five plays, with Tateleaping across the goal line from the 1.
Wyoming has lost 11 straight conference games, dating to a 42-28 victoryover New Mexico in 1999.
