LAS VEGAS (AP) - Jason Thomas ran for one touchdown and passed for anotheras UNLV beat Wyoming 42-23 on Saturday night.
It was the fourth straight home victory for the Rebels (4-3, 2-1 MountainWest), who didn't win at home all of last season.
Wyoming (1-7, 0-4) fell behind 14-0 in the first quarter, and could notcatch up to the Rebels.
Thomas, ranked first in the nation in passing efficiency, didn't startbecause of a sprained right foot. He entered the game early in the secondquarter with UNLV leading 14-7 and immediately led the Rebels 80 yards on fourplays.
Thomas, who capped the scoring drive with a 10-yard touchdown run, finishedwith 111 yards on 6-of-9 passing and 18 yards on three rushes.
Jeremi Rudolph rushed for 102 yards and one touchdown for UNLV. The Rebels'Kevin Brown also ran for a score.
Wyoming's Jay Stoner passed for 231 yards, completing 27 of 41 attempts withtwo touchdowns and no interceptions.
UNLV scored first with 10:26 left in the first quarter when wide receiverNate Turner took a lateral from Jason Vaughan and threw 33 yards to Bobby Nerofor a touchdown.
The Rebels extended the lead after Nate Rydalch blocked a Wyoming punt andKevin Rhaburn recovered the loose ball in the end zone.
The Cowboys cut the lead to 14-7 when Stoner connected with Nate Scott on a23-yard scoring pass early in the second quarter. Scott also scored on a17-yard run in the third quarter for Wyoming.
