LARAMIE, Wyo. -
To better accommodate Wyoming Cowboy football fans, Athletics Director Lee Moon has announced an affordable ticket package for what should be an exciting 1999 season.
Not only will Brigham Young and Colorado State return to War Memorial Stadium for 99, but the Cowboys will be competing in the inaugural season of the new Mountain West Conference.
Anticipation is high for the Cowboys who return 48 lettermen and 14 starters from last years 8-3 team that came within a whisker of winning a division title.
"There is great excitement and anticipation for the 1999 season," Moon said. "We are extremely proud of our home schedule which includes many of our old rivals, including BYU, CSU and New Mexico, in what will be the 50th anniversary of War Memorial Stadium. It promises to be a big year."
UW continues to offer an outstanding season-ticket price of $84, the same price as last season, a savings of 30 percent over single-game prices. Single-game tickets are $15 for Weber State and Idaho; $20 for New Mexico and UNLV and $25 for Colorado State and Brigham Young.
"In our travels around the state, President Dubois and I heard from many fans about our ticket offerings," Moon said. "To better serve them we have created two new ticket options to compliment our season-ticket package. Many of our fans asked that we consider the implementation of a family-priced ticket as well as a "mini" season-ticket package for those who cant make every home game.
"In response to our fans we have created the Cowboy Combo and the Family Value Pack."
The Cowboy Combo is perfect for the busy college football fan.It provides an individual with a discounted ticket and priority seating for three home games. Fans may select one game from each of three groups for only $45. That is a savings of $15 from purchasing single game tickets. The three groupings include: a non-conference game from either Weber State (Sept. 11) or Idaho (Oct. 2); a conference game from either UNLV (Oct. 9) or New Mexico (Nov. 20); and one traditional rival game from either Colorado State (Oct. 23) or Brigham Young (Nov. 13).
The Family Value Pack allows a family of four (minimum of two children) to purchase single game tickets at a dramatic discount from the single game price. For example, if a family wants to attend the UNLV game, four single-game reserved seats, at regular price, would be $80. With the Family Value Pack, a family can attend for $45, a savings of $35. Families should make plans early since there are a limited number of Value Packs available per game.
The Family Value Pack prices are as follows: Weber State, four tickets, $30; Idaho, four tickets, $30; UNLV, four tickets, $45; New Mexico, four tickets, $45; Colorado State, four tickets, $60; and Brigham Young, four tickets, $60.
The UW Athletics Ticket Office is taking orders now for the 1999 season. The ticket office is open 8 a.m until 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Orders may be placed by calling the ticket office at 1-800-922-9461 or locally at 766-4850.
