LARAMIE, Wyo. -
Home games in three of the season's first four weeks highlight the University of Wyoming's 2015 football campaign, as the Mountain West office announced the conference's complete schedule on Monday. Game times and television coverage will be announced at a later date.
The Cowboys kick off the season on Sept. 5 against North Dakota in War Memorial Stadium and host Eastern Michigan the following weekend on Sept. 12. A road game at Washington State on Sept. 19 follows, before Wyoming starts the conference schedule versus New Mexico on Sept. 26. Road games at Appalachian State and Air Force start the month of October for the Cowboys on the third and 10th, respectively. Wyoming's only home game in the month is against Nevada on Oct. 17, followed by road games at Boise State on Oct. 24 and Utah State on Oct. 31.
The 107th-annual Border War with Colorado State will be contested in Laramie on Nov. 7, as the Cowboys return to the road for a third time in four weeks at San Diego State on Nov. 14. Wyoming's only bye of the 2015 season will be the weekend of Nov. 21, while the Pokes conclude regular-season play by hosting UNLV on Nov. 28. The 2015 Mountain West Championship Game will be played Dec. 5 at the stadium of the divisional champion with the highest national ranking.
Monday's release represents the first phase in the 2015 football schedule process. MW national television partners CBS Sports Network and ESPN will now initiate a selection procedure which will include shifting of selected games from Saturdays to Thursdays and Fridays. That will be followed by the identification of network outlets and kick times, along with the picks for regional partner ROOT SPORTS and the Mountain West Network.
The 2015 MW football membership includes Air Force, Boise State, Colorado State, New Mexico, Utah State and Wyoming in the Mountain Division and Fresno State, Hawai'i, Nevada, San Diego State, San Jose State and UNLV in the West Division. Each of the program's MW schedule features eight conference games with five of those against teams in the same division and three versus teams from the conference's other division. Wyoming's three contests with West Division teams this season are Nevada, San Diego State and UNLV.
