UW Athletics Facility Repairs and Renovations

LARAMIE, Wyo. -

The University of Wyoming began the demolition of the Upper West Stands at War Memorial Stadium on March 22, 2004. The project was substantially complete by August 15, 2004. The project consisted of two phases. The first was to remove the existing precast light weight concrete L-Beam risers, the front and side metal guardrails, and front and side fascia panels. The second phase was to install new precast concrete tread risers, new side and front guardrails, new bench seating, and new front and side fascia panels. Under this phase the vomitories (portals) and front walkway were made handicap accessible. Additional improvements made to the West side included wrought iron fencing around Gate 5 and a new entry-way for that gate.
