LARAMIE, Wyo. -
Earlier this week the first part of Wyoming's War Memorial Stadium face-lift began, with crews cutting the 55-year old natural grass surface into strips on Monday and then offering the turf for sale to the public on Tuesday.
Despite a mid-week snow storm that slowed sales, fans may still purchase their piece of Cowboy Football history through the weekend.
It will be available for sale through Sunday (April 24), from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Cost is fifty cents per foot, and will be sold on a first-come-first-served basis. Fans may enter the stadium's southeast gate to purchase as much turf as they wish. All sales proceeds will supplement the Cowboy Joe Club Scholarship Fund.
Fans, who will be responsible for transporting the sod to their vehicles, are asked to pay with checks only. Athletics department personnel will be on site during the six-day period to handle sales.
