The Wyoming Cowboy football team has been tabbed by a second national website as a preseason Top 25 team. The most recent college football writer to select the Cowboys in his 2005 preseason Top 25 was SI.com college football writer Stewart Mandel. Mandel, who covers college sports for Sports Illustrated magazine's website SI.com, picked the Wyoming Cowboys No. 25 in his preseason rankings of the nation's top teams. Mandel's preseason rankings were released on Wednesday.

On April 21, two of ESPN.com's senior writers, Ivan Maisel and Pat Forde, both had the Wyoming Cowboys in their preseason Top 25 rankings. Maisel picked the Cowboys No. 21, while Forde placed the Pokes in the No. 25 spot in his rankings.

Wyoming returns 19 starters and 48 letterwinners from last year's team that concluded the season with a 7-5 record and a 24-21 victory over UCLA in the 2004 Pioneer PureVision Las Vegas Bowl.

Below are Mandel's 2005 Preseason Top 25 rankings for SI.com as of April 27.
