LARAMIE, Wyo. -
The University of Wyoming football program announced Wednesday it will host a two-day camp in June for area youth to improve their skills.
Wyoming coaches and players will be on hand for the camp, which takes place June 9-10 at War Memorial Stadium in Laramie. It's aimed at children aged first through eighth grade. The cost is $56 and runs from 8 a.m. to noon each day. The camp will be geared toward position-specific skill development and fundamentals, but camp organizers will emphasize the fun aspects of playing the game.
A camp T-shirt will be provided to each camper on the first day and should be worn each day. Participants should wear shorts and tennis shoes, but no helmets or shoulder pads will be necessary. Campers will be broken up into groups and teams based on age. Certified trainers will attend all practices. A snack and beverage will be provided each day and water will be available at all times.
From 7:30-8 a.m. each day, registration and check-in will take place. From 8-9:30 a.m., offensive and defensive practices will take place, followed by a snack session from 9:30-10 a.m. From 10-11 a.m., other activities are scheduled, while various contests will take place from 11 a.m. to noon.
The University of Wyoming football program hosts camps at its home facilities which include War Memorial Stadium, a full 120-yard indoor practice facility, and five grass practice fields.
