LARAMIE, Wyo. -
University of Wyoming Athletics Director Tom Burman announced on Monday that UW has signed contracts to play the University of Missouri, University of Oregon, Boise State University and Weber State University in future football seasons. Wyoming's series with Missouri, Oregon and Boise State will all be home-and-home series. The Weber State series will be a two-game contract with both games to be played in Laramie, Wyo.
"It is exciting to add these outstanding football opponents to our future schedules," said Burman. "In Missouri and Oregon, we've not only added two BCS conference schools to our schedules, but our fans will get an opportunity to see both of those opponents play here in Laramie. I think it is important for our fans and our football program to schedule schools that are willing to play home-and-home series with us.
"In renewing the home-and-home series with Boise State, we are continuing a regional series against a team that has reached a Bowl Championship Series game and won it.
"We are also pleased to sign a deal with another quality regional opponent in Weber State that has agreed to play two games here in Laramie."
The first of the new contracts will begin in 2009 when Wyoming hosts Weber State. Weber will also play in Laramie during the 2011 season.
Boise State will travel to Laramie in 2010. Wyoming will return to Boise in 2011.
The Missouri Tigers and Wyoming Cowboys will meet for the first time in the two schools' histories in 2011, when Wyoming will travel to Columbia, Mo. The following season of 2012, Missouri will face the Cowboys on Jonah Field at War Memorial Stadium in Laramie.
Like the Missouri series, Wyoming's new series with Oregon will be a first. The first-ever meeting between the Cowboys and Ducks will be in 2014 in Eugene, Ore. In 2015, Oregon will return the trip to Wyoming.
