Defensive Back


Lee Vaughn, hailing from Cheyenne, Wyo., lettered four years at defensive back from 1993 to 1996 under head coach Joe Tiller. His best season came during his senior year when he helped lead the Cowboys to a 10-2 overall record and an appearance in the Western Athletic Conference Championship game. He earned All-WAC honors during the '96 season.


Jerry Marion
Split End


Jerry Marion, a California product from Bakersfield, played on one of the best teams in Cowboy football history. He lettered three years for UW from 1964-66 playing split end. His first season as a Cowboy in 1964, he set the single-season record for average yards per punt return at 26 (519 in 20). In 1966 he played on the Sun Bowl Champion team. During that season, he helped lead the Cowboys to a 10-1 overall record and a 28-20 Sun Bowl victory over Florida State. For his efforts during the 1966 season he earned All-Western Athletic Conference honors. Following his UW career, Marion was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steeler in the 10th round of the 1967 AFL Draft.
