2002 Wyoming Football Season Fast Approaching

LARAMIE, Wyo. -

The 2002 University of Wyoming Football season is fast approaching and several Cowboys are preseason honors candidates.

Two of those honors candidates, junior wide receiver Ryan McGuffey and junior quarterback Casey Bramlet, are currently at the Mountain West Conference Football Media Days in San Diego, Calif. The MWC Media Days are being held Monday and Tuesday, July 29-30 at the Coronado Island Marriott in San Diego.

One week from today, on Monday, Aug. 5, the Wyoming football program will welcome its freshmen and newcomers to town. Cowboy veterans report on Thursday, Aug. 8.

Over the next week, the University of Wyoming Athletics Department website (www.wyomingathletics.com) will feature bios of some of the veteran Cowboys who have received honors recognition. The website will also feature the bios of the Cowboy newcomers who will be arriving on Monday, Aug. 5.

In addition to the individual ratings, two publications included position unit rankings listing each Mountain West Conference school by position. Those unit rankings gave high marks to the Wyoming offense and special teams. The rankings are as follows:
