Mountain West Conference Releases ESPN Regional Television Football Schedule

The Mountain West Conference announced its 2001 ESPN Regional Television (ESPN+Plus) football schedule.

For the third season ESPN Regional Television (ESPN+Plus) will syndicate an eight-game "Mountain West Game of the Week" package. In addition to the eight "Mountain West Game of the Week" contests, the MWC will have 23 other games broadcast by television partners ABC/ESPN/ESPN2 during the 2001 football season.

The "ESPN Regional Television (ESPN+Plus) Mountain West Game of the Week"begins on September 15th with the Utah at Air Force game and runs through thefinal weekend of conference games on November 17th.

The "Mountain West Game of the Week" will be syndicated to 20 affiliates in thefollowing markets:

Longtime ESPN announcer Jim Kelly debuts as the play-by-play voice of the "Mountain West Game of the Week." Kelly has handled announcing responsibilities on ESPN's broadcasts of the Senior PGA Tour and the America's Cup yacht race. He is joined by analyst JC Pearson, who returns for his second season covering the MWC, and sideline reporter Beth Mowins who has covered the league for ESPN Regional Television (ESPN+Plus) since its inception in 1999.

Below is the 2001 ESPN Regional Television (ESPN+Plus) "Mountain West Game of the Week" schedule. All telecasts will begin at 1:00 p.m. MT. Telecasts for the option weeks will be determined by ESPN Regional Television (ESPN+Plus) 12- or 6-days prior to the contest.
