LARAMIE, Wyo. -
A selection of Wyoming football games will be broadcast in Denver, this season, Athletics Director Lee Moon announced Thursday.
The University of Wyoming Intercollegiate Athletics Department, and Jefferson Pilot Communications have signed an agreement to broadcast a "limited" schedule of Cowboy football games during the 1999 season.
Both AM 950, "The Fan" and AM 1600 will have exclusive rights to carry Cowboy football in Denver during the '99 campaign. According to Moon, the Cowboy Sports Network will broadcast seven games in Denver, five on AM 1600 and two on AM 950. Tennessee, Sept. 4, Weber State, Sept. 11, Idaho, Oct. 2, BYU, Nov. 13, and New Mexico on Nov. 20 will be aired on AM 1600, and Air Force, Sept. 25, and CSU, Oct. 23, will be heard on AM 950.
"We are genuinely excited to have the Cowboy broadcasts in Denver," Moon said. "We have been working towards this for quite some time, and are most appreciative to Jefferson Pilot for allowing us to be involved with such outstanding radio stations.
"Our alumni, fans and friends of the University in the Denver area will have an opportunity to listen to Cowboy football for the first time in over a decade. That is extremely important to us, and to our program."
