The University of Wyoming football team will kick off its 2003 football season on Saturday, Aug. 30 when they host the Montana State Bobcats.

It will be the first game in War Memorial Stadium for first-year Cowboy head coach Joe Glenn and his staff. Game time is set for 2:00 p.m., Mountain time.

The Cowboys are led by senior quarterback Casey Bramlet and senior wide receiver Ryan McGuffey on offense, while the defense is led by standout linebacker Tyler Gottschalk, a senior. The Cowboys also have one of the nation's top punters in the country in senior Luke Donovan.

Bramlet has been named to the Davey O'Brien Award preseason watch list, honoring the nation's top quarterback. McGuffey has been selected a preseason First Team All-Mountain West Conference selection in voting by conference media. Gottschalk was the second leading tackler in the Mountain West Conference a year ago, and Donovan has been ranked as the seventh best punter in the nation by the Sporting News entering this season.

At halftime of Saturday's game, the new Veterans Memorial in the north end zone will be officially dedicated.

The game will be broadcast on the 24-station Cowboy Sports Radio Network. There is no television coverage for this week's game.

Fans are reminded that large bags will not be allowed in the stadium and that small bags are subject to search. One line at each ticket gate will be designated as a bag search line, while the remainder will be express lanes. Fans should also remember that umbrellas are not allowed in War Memorial Stadium.
