LARAMIE, Wyo. -
The University of Wyoming Athletics Department announced on Saturday that a total of 700 student tickets to the Sept. 12 Wyoming-Texas game were not picked up by UW students and so will go on sale to the general public beginning Sunday, Sept. 6 at 2 p.m.
The tickets will first be put on sale online at www.WyomingAthletics.com. If any tickets are remaining Monday, Sept. 7, they will also be available for purchase at the UW Athletics Ticket Office in the Arena-Auditorium beginning at 8 a.m. on Monday.
Fans are encouraged to purchase these tickets online and print them off at home to avoid a $5.00 per ticket will call fee and to avoid potentially long will call lines the day of the game.
A total of 7,000 tickets were originally designated for UW students. The student tickets were made available for pick up beginning at the start of the fall semester on Monday Aug. 24. The deadline for students to pick up their tickets was Friday, Sept. 4 at 5 p.m.
Unlike most Wyoming home games, where students simply show their student IDs at the stadium for entrance, students were asked to pick up tickets for admittance to the Texas game. This plan was put in place to assure that if space remained in the student section, those extra seats could be sold to the general public.
"I want to thank our students for their cooperation in this process," said UW Director of Athletics Tom Burman. "We wanted to make sure we could give as many Wyoming fans as possible an opportunity to attend the Texas game. To accomplish that, we needed the students to pick up tickets like all of our other fans to help determine seating space in the stadium. The students have been great throughout this process, and we appreciate their cooperation."
When purchasing the remaining 700 tickets, fans will be limited to eight (8) tickets per order. These tickets will be general admission seats and will be located in the UW Student Section on the lower east side of War Memorial Stadium.
The Wyoming-Texas game will kick off Saturday, Sept. 12 at 1:30 p.m., Mountain Time.
