University of Wyoming Athletics Director Lee Moon announced today that theWyoming football game versus the University of Kansas has been rescheduled.
The game will now be played on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2001, in Lawrence, Kan. The gametime has been tentatively set for1 p.m., Central time (12 p.m., Mountain time). That gametime may change pending television coverage of the contest.
The choice of Nov. 24 for the game means that the season will extend a week later for both schools. Wyoming's game atSan Diego State on Nov. 17 was originally to be the season finale for the Cowboys, while KU's Nov. 17 home game versusIowa State was originally to be their final game of the 2001 season.
Originally the Cowboys and Jayhawks were to play on Saturday, Sept. 15 in Lawrence, Kan. The game was postponed,along with all other NCAA Division IA games, following the attacks by terrorists in New York City, Washington D.C. andPennsylvania.
All single-game tickets purchased originally for the Wyoming game will apply for the makeup date.
The Kansas-Wyoming game is currently not scheduled for television, but could be picked up under the Big 12Conference television agreement.
