Security To Be High For Wyoming Football Game At Air Force

AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. - The Air Force Academy will host its remaining home football games for the 2001 season. The Falcons' next home game is Saturday, Oct. 13, at 1 p.m. in Falcon Stadium against Wyoming. Fans are urged to arrive early to ensure enough time to get through the heightened security. The new home game policy, which is listed below, is in effect indefinitely.


? There will be metal detectors at all entry gates and everyone must pass through

? There is a 100 percent check of all items brought into the Stadium

? No coolers, backpacks, large bags or other large items will be permitted

? Only diaper bags, small purses, fanny packs, seat cushions and blankets will be permitted

? Gates at the Stadium will open three hours early (10 a.m.)

? All concessionaires/vendors are required to set up the day before the game

? Only food, ice, drink deliveries will be permitted on game day with required security controls

? There will be no re-entry into the Stadium


? There is no traffic allowed within 75 yards of the Stadium

? Access roads to the cadet area and the remainder of the base will be restricted

? Entrance into Falcon Stadium for the public will be off of Stadium Blvd.

? Parking at the Stadium will be on a first-come, first-served basis

? There will be no preferred parking for season ticket holders

? All large vehicles will be parked in lots farthest away from the Stadium, including RVs and anything larger than a normal sized van

? Lot 1 parking is limited to on base, DoD ID card personnel, handicap and official parking only

? Handicap parking is still available in all lots, outside of the 75-yard area

? No overnight parking at the Stadium

Pre-game Activities

? Tailgating will be permitted. Set up of tents, tables, etc., must be done prior to Saturday and only one privately owned vehicle will be permitted in the tailgate area

? Fan Fest is unchanged and will open at 10 a.m.
