The Wyoming Cowboys return to Mountain West Conference play this Saturday when they travel to Albuquerque, N.M., to play the New Mexico Lobos. The game will kickoff at 6 p.m., Mountain Time from New Mexico's University Stadium.

Wyoming is 1-4 overall and 0-1 in the MWC. New Mexico has a 2-3 overall record and is also 0-1 in the Mountain West. Both the Cowboys and Lobos lone conference games to date were versus Air Force. UW lost to the Falcons by a touchdown, 24-31, on Sept. 23 in Laramie. UNM lost a 17-point game, 7-24, at the Academy last Saturday.

This week's game will mark the 59th meeting between Wyoming and New Mexico. The two schools have been members of the same conference since 1951. The Cowboys lead the overall series with 31 wins to New Mexico's 27.

Breaking through to win a close game will be the focus for the Cowboys as all four of their losses this season have come by a touchdown or less, including two overtime losses - at Virginia (12-13 in one overtime) and at Syracuse (34-40 in double overtime).

Redshirt freshman quarterback Karsten Sween is expected to make the first start of his college career this Saturday. Sween came off the bench in the second half of the Syracuse game last week to complete 19 of 27 passes (70.4 percent) for 201 yards and two touchdowns. He also led the Pokes on a 92-yard touchdown drive with only 4:15 remaining in regulation to tie the game at 27 and force overtime.

The Cowboy defense continues to lead the nation in pass defense, allowing opponents only 105.0 yards passing per game. UW's defense also ranks No. 12 in the country in total defense, giving up only 244.6 yards per game.

There is no television coverage of this week's game but it will be available via live video streaming over the internet at golobos.com.

The Cowboy Sports Network radio broadcast will be carried on its 26 affiliate stations beginning with the pregame show at 5 p.m., Mountain Time.
