Nov. 18, 2010

With the Holiday season approaching, the University of Wyoming Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and the Laramie Detachment of the Marine Corps League will team up to collect Toys For Tots at Saturday's Wyoming-Colorado State football game. Toys, checks or cash may be donated at all entrances to War Memorial Stadium on Saturday, Nov. 20. There will also be Toys For Tots representatives available in tailgating areas to take donations. Saturday's game is scheduled to kick off at Noon, Mountain Time.

Toys For Tots is a program that has been coordinated for years by the United States Marine Corps Reserve. All toys donated at Saturday's game will remain in Albany County.

Toys donated on Saturday need to be new and unwrapped. Financial donations may also be made at Saturday's collection by cash or check. Checks may be made out to Toys For Tots Foundation.

The Marines will work with the Community Holidays Program in Albany County to register families to receive toys. To signup someone to receive toys, people may contact Karen Royce of the Community Holidays program at (307) 399-8367. The Community Holidays Program will also distribute the toys to families in mid-December.

The Toys For Tots Foundation will also purchase toys for the University of Wyoming SAAC Holiday party for the Headstart Children of Albany County.. That Holiday party will take place during the month of December.
