All-WAC Football Teams and Yearly Awards Announced

LARAMIE, Wyo. -

The Western Athletic Conference announced it's All-WAC teams and coach and players of the year awards today. The awards were voted upon by the WAC's coaches and include teams from both the Pacific and Mountain Divisions. The University of Wyoming placed four players on the Mountain Division's first team and five players on the second team. San Diego State and Utah led the Pacific Division with five players on the All-WAC first team, while Colorado State led the Mountain Division with seven players.

The award winners from the Mountain Division include; Air Force senior quarterback Blane Morgan,Air Force senior defensive tackle Bryce Fisher and UNLV linebacker James Sunia for the Offensive, Defensive and Freshman of the Year honors, respectively. Air Force head coach Fisher DeBerry is the Coach of the Year.

In the Pacific Division, Fresno State senior running back Jaime Kimbrough is Offensive Player of the Year. Brigham Young junior linebacker Rob Morris is the Defensive Player of the Year and San Diego State defensive tackle Jerome Haywood is the Freshman of the Year. San Diego State head coach Ted Tollner is the Coach of the Year.
