LARAMIE, Wyo. -

Athlete of the Week

Casey Ruff

What is one thing that people don't know about you?
"I am a health nut"

If you could golf with one person who would it be?
"Arnold Palmer, in his prime, of course. We (the golf team) had the pleasure of meeting him earlier this semester and it was an awesome experience."

What is it like trying to golf on a windy day in Laramie?
"I try not to"

If you could golf anywhere you wanted where would it be?
"Probably Augusta National...Just the whole tradition behind the Masters would make it pretty cool."

What do you do to prepare for a tournament?
"Sleep...That 36-hole day is a long day, so getting some good rest is my number one priority."

If you could play another sport what would it be?
"Basketball. Unfortunately, I'm not very tall, not very fast, and can't jump very high."

Do you watch the Masters?
"Yes. That is what I plan on doing all weekend."

What are your plans after you graduate from college?
"I actually graduated last year. So, I'm trying to find a way to stay a college athlete forever."

If you could be on a TV game show what would it be?
"Deal or No Deal"

Have you ever made a hole in one?
"Yes, two actually. One when I was in high school on my home course in Buffalo, and one when I was a freshman in a practice round in San Diego."

What is the best part about your golf game; short, long, or on the green?
"My driver. I almost always hit my driver straight, which is huge."

What kind of golf clubs do you use?
"A little bit of everything. Right now I have a Ping Driver, Titliest Irons, Cleveland Wedges and an Odyssey Putter."

Who has the longest drive on the team?
"Well, Clinton and Mike like to think they do...But I'd have to say Zach does when he catches one."

If you could have one super power what would it be? Why?
"The power to go back in time. That way I could take mulligans and it wouldn't be considered cheating."
